Our Church

College Park First United Methodist Church is located in the heart of a vibrant community named College Park that is part of the greater metropolitan area of Atlanta, Ga. College Park First UMC has a well-established and rich history and continues to flourish as we grow in new directions alongside our community. Our worship could be described as “warm formal” though the dress code is casual. We are a friendly and welcoming congregation with a rich history of serving God and the community. We will remain part of the United Methodist Church after the General Conference vote allowing for disaffiliation.

College Park First UMC is a loving congregation with a history of serving God and the College Park community, and we are energized to proclaim Christ’s love both within and beyond the walls of our sanctuary and the borders of our campus. We have been a missional outpost and community outreach center for many years, and through the grace of God, we have experienced many changes that have led to new and exciting opportunities for ministry.

College Park First UMC provides a variety of ways for people to experience the grace of God. This is important because everyone needs to feel loved and accepted by someone, and God perfectly fills that need. Everyone makes mistakes, but God loves us anyway and wants us to come back to Him. He has provided a way for us to be forgiven and start fresh, no matter what we have done.

We are confident that with the help of key personnel, and the blessings from God Almighty, we will remain a meaningful pillar to our community. Through arts, music, education, and shared community space, we will seek to provide people an opportunity to experience God’s Grace. College Park First UMC has truly become a place that serves the community 24/7, 365.

We are grateful for the ways that God has worked through College Park First UMC over the years, and we are excited to see what He will do next. We believe that kindness means lending your strength to a friend instead of reminding them of their weaknesses. We are a church that believes in the power of prayer, and we are constantly lifting up our community in prayer. We also believe in the power of service, and we are always looking for new ways to serve those in need.

But above all, we believe in the power of love. We believe that God’s love can change lives, and we are committed to sharing that love with everyone we meet. There are opportunities for people of all ages to come, be loved, and take part in the Lord’s exciting ministry here. From Bible studies, volunteer opportunities, Sunday School, fellowship, and dynamic worship, there is something for everyone!

Sunday morning begins with worship at 11 am. Please come as you are!

We have a diverse congregation and welcome people of all races and sexual orientations.  Children are also a joy to have in worship. We do not currently have a nursery but are pleased to make arrangements upon request.

Worshipers are invited to enter from Main Street from the front steps or the ground-level entrance located close to the handicapped parking spaces. An elevator is located right by this door.

We are in the center of College Park where East Main Street and Harvard Avenue intersect – across the railroad tracks from the center of downtown and next door to the College Park MARTA Station. Parking is available off East Main.
